An independent organization of juniors, the Chit Chatters endeavored to promote coope- ration among its members throughout the school year. Service projects were carried out every month and other social functions were also held on different occasions. The girls in- cluded among their activities a camp, picnics, dances and selling projects. Participating in the Clothing drive for the Territorial Hospital, in the Toys for Tots drive, and The Star-Bulletin and Advertiser Christmas fund were part of their activities. A teahouse party highlighted the year-end activities.

D. E. C. A. All members of the Cooperative Retailing Training Class from Kaimuki belong to the Distributive Education Clubs of America. These students spend half of their day at school and the remaining part of the day at work. The C.R.T.C. program enables busi- ness students who are qualified, to gain on the job retail experience and prepares them for full time positions after graduation. To be qualified a student must first have an aver- age of or better. The students are employed at the Ritz Store, The Liberty House, Royal Enterprises, Dicksons, and other stores. The year started with the annual installa- tion Banquet. It was followed by the distribu- tion of Christmas stockings to The Chi1dren's Ward at Leahi Hospital.
