CLUB 59 Their many community service projects in- cluded Christmas caroling at various hospitals and making Christmas and Easter baskets for children at Leahi Hospital. A banquet for the members and their guest was held in june. Twenty-five senior girls from Kaimuki make up the membership of Club 59. Socials, moon- light picnics, and hobo hops with boys from McKinley, Farrington and Roosevelt kept the girls busy throughout the year. Ot er projects included cleaning up at the Scholarship Dance and Senior picnic and working with the Volunteers Service Bureau. Made up of 24 juniors, Sen- iors and Sophomores, the Sabres is a Hi-Y Club. joint dances with Roosevelt, McKinley and St. Andrew's Priory constituted their so- cial portion of their activities. To finance their social activities and year- end banquet in june, the Sabres glutted the snack consumer market on the campus with Iso peanuts.

Franklin Nishida, Alban Oshiro, David Rodrigues, Raymond Taguchi, Franklin Tam, Gordon Tam. The Key Club, sponsored by the Waikiki Kiwanis Club, consists of students dedicated to school and community service. Organized in 1956 by Dr. Yorio Wakatake, the club con- tributed concrete benches and mirrors for the school lavatories. In 1957-58 the club's major project was painting the bleachers and stage. I 9 This year the club helped the Toys for Tots' Drive by painting toys. To culminate the year's activities, a ban- quet was held at the end of the year. Dr. Ken Kuwata, Mr. Masami Yamauchi, Mr. Floyd Kaneshiro, and Dr. Francis Ho- shino served as advisors along with our own school counselor Mr. Seiso Taniguchi.
