A money making project enabled them to have a graduation banquet in May.

FUTURE NIGHTINGALES To promote interest in the Field of nursing is the purpose of the Future Nightingales. To gain experience, the girls volunteered their services to our local hospitals. Made up of Sophomores, Juniors, and Sen- iors, their activities included picnics, field trips and a banquet. At their meetings they had special speakers from various hospitals. Service projects were carried out for special occasions like Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. The Nightingales contributed their services to the school by participating in the Toys for Tots campaign. Sponsoring a fashion show at the Biltmore Hotel and collecting money for the March of Dimes were special projects for the Las Estrellitas. The girls worked diligently to make these affairs successful. They also caroled on the Kapahulu Busi- ness Men's Association float in December and participated at pep rallies. Together with clubs from different schools, they had many social activities. Their final activity was a ban- quet and dance, held in june.
