NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The object of the Kaimuki Aloha Chapter of the National Honor Society is fourfold, to create an enthusiam for scholarship, to stimu- late a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Kai- muki High School. Service to the school and community was done on both an individual and group basis. Ushering at the Christmas play, serving re- freshments at school dances, setting up win- dow displays in the Administration building, and serving the school as oflicers in many organizations were some of their services. Community service was accomplished by as- sisting at the Honolulu Community Theater as canteen workers, and by taking part in or- ganizations such as the Oahu Youth Council, the Y-Teens, Tri-Hi-Y, Hi-Y, and the Inter- School Christian Fellowship. Field trips, informal gatherings, and a visit to the Waikiki Shell to see the Shakespearean Festival were some of their social activities. To culminate the year's activities, an in- duction banquet was held. The members certainly had an active year.
