up! Push for IfI5m IV REVIEW The Kaimuki Pups ended the 1958 junior Varsity league season under new mentor Ed- ward Bino Neves in a tie for fourth place with Iolani. The Junior Varsity was greatly handicap- ped by injuries sustained earlier in the sea- son by key playersg among them, Harvey Tomaselli. The Pups also lost Sophomore Rodney Morris who was advanced to play on the Senior Varsity. He played outstanding football and was chosen as Back of the Week by the Honolulu Advertiser after the St. Louis game. The pups started the season with a bang by dumping McKinley I6-0. Then they were defeated three games in succession-l2-0 by Punahou, 20-I2 by Farrington, and 22-I2 by lolani. The pups came back fighting to crush Roosevelt 26-I4 and to trounce St. Louis 32- 0. They ended the season by dropping their final game to Kamehameha 28-0. f arf' QUEEN GAIL REIGNS AT VARSITY BALL For the first time in Kaimuki's history, the Varsity Ball was sponsored by the Athletic Department. The Ball was held at the Kaimuki Patio on May 15. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Varsity Queen, Senior Gail Tsuda, who was sponsored by the Varsity Golf Team. Team captains escorted the Queen and Princesses at the court presentation. Intermission entertainment featured PE Practice Teacher, Danny Dalton, Al Lucas, and the Uniques.
