tqneat Performa nee-Iolomi P elg 0-I2 KAIMUKI 22, ST. LOUIS 18. Kaimuki gained their third upset victory against the heavily favored St. Louis Crusaders in a tight game, 22-18. Rodney Morris led the Bulldogs to victory by scoring three touchdowns, one in every quarter except the first. The Crusaders, also scoring three touchdowns, were beaten by a safety in the first quarter and a conversion alter the first touchdown by Kaimuki. Kaimuki's entire line played a terrific game, outcharging the St. Louis line completely. KAIMUKI 20, IOLANI 12. Kaimuki once again proved a comer by adding some stun- ning plays to their terrific passing attack to upset Iolani, 20-12. Heroes for Kaimuki were a dime a dozen. In the backlleld spotlight were Cliff Ching, Clarence Chun-Hoon, and Allan Hasegawa. The hard charging linemen were Samson Rodrigues, Harry Lloyd, David Itokazu, Nor- man Lau and Allen Aloy. Air Attack Stun! Gow KAIMUKI 14, PUNAHOU 19. The Bull- dogs dropped their first interscholastic game to a heavily favored Punahou, 19-14. Kaimuki after scoring the first touchdown was unable to hold their lead when Punahou scored three times in the second quarter. Kai- muki threatened Punahou's lead by scoring a second touchdown in the fourth quarter. Both teams had difficulty in working their offense effectively. As a result, Punahou net- ted only 78 yards rushing and Kaimuki a total of 92 yards rushing and passing. Rodney Morris Fullback Tackle Samson Rodrigues KAIMUKI 28, FARRINGTON 6. In their second game Kaimuki unleashed a deadly pro- style passing attack to trounce Farrington 28- 6. Kaimuki passed Farrington dizzy from the deep-T formation with Kiesel throwing three touchdown passes. With plenty of protection, Kiesel bided his time to enable his receivers to go downfield before throwing unerring passes. The Bulldogs scored twice in the second quarter and once in the third through the air. After three straight victories, Kaimuki bowed to the undefeated Warriors before 22,000 fans at the stadium. Kam scored in every quarter. They led 12- 0 at halftime. Then they scored two more touchdowns in the third period and the re- serves took over in the fourth quarter to score another two touchdowns to make a total of 40. Kaimuki had two scoring opportunities early in the fourth quarter but was unable to move against Kam's staunch line. ki: 1 xefix fi 'hal GOT IT-Lanky John Clifford stretches out and backward to receive pass from Ace Bulldog Passer William Kiesel. KAIMUKI 14, ROOSEVELT 12. By beat- ing Roosevelt 14-12 in a thriller, the Bulldog's passed the school's win mark. The 1951, '52, and '53 teams each had three victories. This fourth win for Coach Imanaka in his first season practically assured the Bulldogs a Tur- key Day spot-the third in K:-1imuki's history. The game was pretty even all around with Kaimuki holding the slight edge of two points and fifteen yards statistically.
