Girls Swimming Dives Girls swimming had a great year finishing second in the Western League and third in the City Finals. In CIF, seven swimmers qualified for prelimenary Finals while two qualified for Finals. The two swimmers that qualified, Corolyn Worth and Michele Wheeler, both did an outstanding job. Carolyn Worth received first place in the 100 Butterfly and second in the 200 IM. Michele swam the 200 Freestyle. The most Valuable Player award goes to both Carolyn Worth and Michele Wheeler. The Most Improved Players award goes to Michele Zyph. All three girls contributed their talents and leadership to the swim team this year. The swim team is looking forward to another profitable season next year. Serra Varsityflr. arsity Basketball Basketball is a fast moving sport which requires fast mov- ing and fast thinking people. Those people were on the Serra Varsity and Ir. Varsity Basketball teams in 1982. The coach for the Varsity team was Tom Williams and Bob Oliver coached the Ir. Varsity team. The most valuable player for the Varsity team was Scott Pite and the most valuable player for the Jr. Varsity team was Mike Finkle. All of the player on both teams played well and kept Serra's spirit alive. 50 Basketball
