Following A Slow Start . . . The varsity football squad got off to a slow start this season, losing their first two games. But redeemed themselves by beating Crawford 33-0. This game proved to be the turning point for the Q's. They went on to win 4 of the next 6 games. The last game of the regular season was the most important. Playing Lincoln for the central crown. Many players got Mohawks to get motivated for the game. This wasn't enough, and Serra lost to their long time rivals, 18-6. Even so, Serra's varsity team advanced to the play-offs for the second year in a row. They played San Marcos for the right to continue on. But lost, by the score of 40-7. . . Football Proves . . The Iunior Varsity football team played well this season. They represented Serra with all the enthusiasm and spirit possible. Although I.V. had a tough schedule, they finished the sea- son with an impressive league record of 5 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. This record was good enough to place Serra's, I.V. at second in the central division. Coach Watson feels that next season should be better than ever.
