Clubs and Organizations Set the Pace A wide variety of clubs were offered to Serra students who wanted to get involved with their com- munity or school. There were clubs for everybody. The wide range of clubs and organizations went from cheerleading to the California Scholarship Federation. Some unique clubs such as Clownlolgy were also avail- able due to a special grant given to Serra. The junior highers weren't neglected in the for- mation of clubs. Many clubs such as Readers Theater and the Coin and Stamp Club was comprised entirely of 7th and Sth graders. Also athletic clubs were set up for Junior I-ligh to prepare our younger athletes for interscholastic competition. Maybe athletics wasn't your thing. Well, Serra had many scholastically sponsored clubs such as the Model United Nations club and the Freedom Foundation. Organizations such as yearbook, newspaper, C.C.T.V., and cheerleadin were active in school service. Serra did have a wid-Je array of clubs and organizations, but if you have an idea for a new club, just find a sponsor and some interested students to start one. Unfortunately not all of Serrafs clubs are featured in the yearbook. 'iw Yearbook Staf Relived '76-'77 With One of the most challenging classes at Serra was Yearbook Publications. The class was selected by a series of meetings, interviews and recommen- dations. Everyone on the staff had to be dedicated and willing to work long, hard hours to prouduce the first and finest yearbook, La Mision. Time was the biggest problem everyone encoun- tered. Selling advertisements, taking l.D. pictures drawing layouts and meeting deadlines were all a part of their busy job. Also in an attempt to get more things accomplished the staff met during Advisory Act- ivity. Under the fine supervision of Mr. Linderman La Mision had been a success.
