Tennis Lobbed Got Hit Overhead Ken Oppeltz, Paul Mikelson and Mike Milam proved to be the top three palyers as the tennis team tried to ace their opponents. Over twentyfive boys tried out for the team but only ten made varsity. These tennis players competed against the top schools in the Westem League and ended their season with 8 wins and 6 losses. Coach Paula Halverson and T.A. Patty Palmer explained, The first season is mainly one of organiza- tion and trying ot get to get to know your opponents. If you win half your matches you're doing well. All the continous practise seemed to pay off, as the team showed great improvement over the course of the season. The team is looking for a better season next year, with a majority of the players returning. 5 . K K V.hi r lkzr i ,WV, D' .6,..A,, . V Q ' n 76 Athletics
