Juanita Aktsin makes it seem easy to balance on afour inch beam. nba lanced Wins, Didn 't Bar Hopes With guidance from Coach Sharon Boss, members of the gymnastics team tried to balance their scores while having first year problems. The girls were all determined and practiced many hours to perfect their routines. During the course of the season great improvement was shown as confidence and skill were gained. The two varsity gymnasts, Connie Hoffman and Lynn Poland helped the J.V. polish their routines, while concentrating on their own. With only 28 members, the track team did quite well under the direction of Coach Sue Minnock, Assistant Coach Carl Robbins and Pete Arbolo. 440 relay and sprints were two of the teams strongest events. According to Coach Minnock the whole team has improved tremendously but standouts were Gail Turner, La Ponda Miller, Sonia lVlcCombs and Molvina Carter. Next years season looks very bright because a majority of the team will be coming back. Track 73
