VME . i 1 Going For Lay Q'SFouled Cut Although the scores did not show it, the varsity basketball team had a fulfilling season. The team was composed mainly of sophmores and juniors while having one freshman and one senior. Coach Tom Willaims and Dave Ybarra supervised the team as they competed against more experienced teams in the Westem League. The Conquistadors had their biggest win over Mira Mesa, coming back from a 15 point deficit to beat them, 57-53. Shooting from the outside was one of the real strengths the team had, and gained recog- nition for this. Tommy Williams made second team all-league while Brian Perry recieved an honorable mention. Coach Williams is excited about the prospect of having a better season next year. 64 Athletics 1 i ' Q 1 -'C' l L

X Q's Pitched, Missed Catch Practicing two and one half hours a day, the girl's softball team tried hard under Coach Tom Cassie's supervision. There were 28 players on the team - 13 on varsity and 15 on junior varsity. We've had great improvement over the course of the season, Coach Cassie said. We've won 3 out of the last 5 games. We are expecting great things next year! The girls outlook for the team is good. Most of the team will be back, as only 3 seniors are leaving. Coach Cassie indicated that it is the fun and team work involved in the game that counts. But of course, its fun to win, too! f X mr V' W . ' K -1 2. ' 'l N ' 66136 I- fm.
