Top ranked Mo Brassard Led the team followed by Kelly Walters and Sue Corpus. All three play- ers recieved trophies for their outstanding play. Coach Halverson spoke highly of the team saying that all the girls did a terrific job. She also stated that the tennis team not only played hard but they also had a lot of fun. Netters Set ' p, Spiked Opponents Spike, bump and set, were just some of the words Coach Vera Powell and Sharon Boss called out to their teams during a game. Both varsity and J .V. did extremely well and made other established teams work hard in order to earn points. Over thirty girls first tried out but only seventeen made the teams. Linda West proved to be the most outstanding player and went on to play in the all-star game. In starting a new tradition, a gold medal was given to the best varsity player and a silver medal was given to the best J.V. player. The award helped the girls to play their best. Vollevball 55
