On the Road To Finding Out From the very beginning Newcomlng was well received and the various spirit week activities helped to boost Serras s 1r1t sky high Antici- pation and excitement fil ed the air dunng the week and carried over into the Newcoming game played against Mira Mesa Long before the game started the Qs stands were overflowing with cheering fans Some wanted to see who would make Newcoming Queen and others wanted to see who would win the game The game began with a lot of hard playing and Mira Mesa scored three touchdowns in the first half The tension caused by the game was easily released at half time though when all seven princesses stood on the field with their escorts. The drum roll echoed throu h the stands and the crowd cheered as Roberta tt became Serra's first Newcoming Queen. The glory of halftime was soon to be halted as Mira Mesa successfully completed two touchdowns in the last quarter' the final score Mira Mesa-22, Serra-0. Underclass Prom, A New Tradition Underclassmen's Prom set up a new tradition t this year. The dance was held in the gym and students were entertained by the band, Imagination. Ninth and tenth graders were given a discount on tickets, while the upperclassmen paid higher itt prices. It was a memorable night. 5 ,,, 5 1.
