The 1976-77 Pepband was a talented group of volunteer musicians who played at all the home foot- ball and basketball games. They provided entertain- ment and raised spirit at rallies and games. Many long, hard hours of practice were spent afterschool. Their instructor was Mr. Lorin Getline. l 2 Pep Club, Pep Band, Two The 1976-77 Q-Spirits were an energetic group of girls who exploded with spirit. They enthusiastically yelled and cherred at all the football and basketball games. During the course of the year they had many fund-raising projects, selling pep ribbons, buttons, lollipops and baked goods. The Q-Spirits met twice weekly to paint signs for games and to plan care packages for the various teams. Their sponsor was Ms. Elaine Schott and elected officers were president Erline Watkins, vice-president Charlaine Carter, treasurer Jackie Josey and secretary Vickie Estacio. For Spirit . Lower left is Dora Vickers and Vickie Estacio. 3. We are the crowd, yeah, and we are proud, yeah, that's why we yell, yeah, So Very Loud! 4. The pep band entertains the students at a Varsity basketball game. 5. Pep band plays at a football game. 6. Foreign Affairs Club,Music Groups . Serra's Choral department led by Mr. Lyle Stone is doing remarkably vvell. The Choir went to a festival on April 28th and was rated excellent. The American Field Service, a school sponsored club in which students from other countries exchange with students from America to live and leam each others way of life. This year the A.F.S. sponsored such things as a bake sales, a camation sale, and a trip to San Franisco for the A.F.S. students. vi illlllu cn -M 1. Senior Pam Cotey daydreams of baby doll days during an A.F.S. meeting. 2. A.F.S. club members reflect unity. 3. Miss Roberta Costin leads discussion on a tentative San Francisco trip. 4. Joyce Salas displays enthusiasm while Mary Nua and Pam Mozingo look doubtful. 5. The Advance Choir stand up straight and with pride in their brown and gold robes. 6. The Beginning Choir along with their director Mr. Lyle Stone posefor the camera. 7. Director of Serra 's Choirs Mr. Lyle Stone oow's his way to the top. 8. Mr. Lyle Stone directs the Advance Choir in harmony during a practice session. 9. Mr. Lyle Stone and the Intermediate Choir make a striking pose. 10.
