l 2 Pep Club, Pep Band, Two The 1976-77 Q-Spirits were an energetic group of girls who exploded with spirit. They enthusiastically yelled and cherred at all the football and basketball games. During the course of the year they had many fund-raising projects, selling pep ribbons, buttons, lollipops and baked goods. The Q-Spirits met twice weekly to paint signs for games and to plan care packages for the various teams. Their sponsor was Ms. Elaine Schott and elected officers were president Erline Watkins, vice-president Charlaine Carter, treasurer Jackie Josey and secretary Vickie Estacio. For Spirit . Cheering to Clowning Around Many zany students had the opportunity to act like complete clowns. All of the members in the club were required to design their own face make-up and put together their own costumes. Also juggling and puppetry were mastered by a majority of club members. Serfs clowns were very active in both community and school services. Clowns helped in Doris Millers annual camival and aided in the opening of the New Tierrasanta Town Center. The clowns also served as guides at the dedication of our new school. Another fun activity that the clownology club did was to learn how to give bith- day parties. The speech team participated in many speech toumnaments including Fullerton and Patrick Henry. Readers Theater gave 7th and 8th graders a chance to participate in the Arts. The 1976-77 Pepband was a talented group of volunteer musicians who played at all the home foot- ball and basketball games. They provided entertain- ment and raised spirit at rallies and games. Many long, hard hours of practice were spent afterschool. Their instructor was Mr. Lorin Getline.
