SERRA MASSES ENHANCED BY CHOIR Masses at Serra were enhanced by the presence of the New Vibrations, a gospel choir originally organized last year by Mr, Mallory Matthews. The choir is composed of students and alumni of Serra plus young women from the community. The choir has grown consistently and has increased the number and scope of its presentations. It now sings not only at Serra but also at a number of churches and schools in the area This year the New Vibrations sponsered a gospel concert featuring several groups ' performances. Aside from the singing of the choir, the impact of Masses at Serra was strong because of the events they celetjrated. The communith participated in two memorial celebrations honoring students who died. Although these were not happy occasions, they did touch the students, faculty and friends of Serra deeply. They were indeed expressions of the Catholic faith which is at the core of Serra ' s identity as a school and as a community of believers in Jesus. Through these Masses the people of Serra found that the living mystery of Jesus does not make life easy but, certainly deeply meaningful. IT I
