ENGLISH The English program is based on the stu- dent's ability, need, and interest. The selec- tive EngLish program gives the student the chance of deciding what he will take. Approximately forty-five quarter English courses are offered at Juneau-Douglas High School. A great amount of required courses are set up during each hour of the day making it easier for the student to enroll in that par- ticular class. The English Department is working closely with the Junior High staff to coordinate the English curricula. Next year the program will be exclusively selective and it is hoped that a larger variety of courses will be offered.
