We are like amateur sculptures. We have a job to do; we can either do it and live, or we can do nothing and merely exist. Our families, teachers, and the whole machine of society have formed a pattern for our lives. The clay is already mixed, and we must form a life with the tools we have been given. Many times our inner urges and desires don’t fit the pattern. Sometimes the clay just won’t work for us. We have to start all over again to keep our line of thinking in proportion with reality. We help each other through the darkness with our sunshine and receive a reflection in return. As long as we have the image of our finished sculpture in our minds and hearts, there is nothing between us and the creation of a masterpiece.
