Later, even more additions were builton the west side to complete the school as we see it today. In the fall of 1975, one more addition was started to accommodate the growth of the student body. As editors and staff of the Nineteen Hundred Seventy-Six Yearbook, we would like to take you back for a second look not only at this year, but at the years that have passed to bring us into this Two hundred years ago, July 1776, marked the beginning of an era of growth. Until then. Freedom and Liberty were words that had been fought for by many, but enjoyed by few. The Declaration of Independence brought about another word—CHANGE. Nothing would ever be the same in America as it had been before. This year, 1976, has also been a year of change. Junction City Senior High School will never be the same as we remember it. New locations, enlargements and improvements for the school have only been a reminder of the growing size of our city. New and advanced courses, girls' athletics, and the formation of new organizations reflect the evolution of our times. We hope that by looking through this Bicentennial Yearbook, you will recall the way it was in 1776, dream of the way it will be in 2076, and remember The Way We Were in 1976. dreams were Bicentennial. 3
