WELCOMES NEW This year Hays and Great Bend were invited to become members of the strongest league in Kansas — CKL. The Central Kansas League is the oldest standing league in the state and is renowned for its ability. Its member schools have consistently taken high honors in the state, not only in sports, but in the fields of vocal music and debate also. Representatives from the member schools (Junction City, Manhattan, Salina South, Salina Central, and McPherson) visited Hays and Great Bend high schools in an effort to promote friendship and good feelings throughout the league and to make the new members feel welcome. The Junction City representatives, accompanied by Mr. A1 Ferguson, all agreed that the trip was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. 8
