Beverly Neddo Clyde David Obrecht Seniors at last! We chose Jim McRae, Ernie Lansbury, J ulaine Smith and Phil Ziegler to lead us through the last year. In the music field we participated in A Cappella Choir, Band, Orchestra, and Glee Club. The BLUE JAY staff turned out our school paper under the sponsorship of Mrs. Knowles. Miss Torgeson led the POW WOW staff in edit- ing the year book. Various members of the senior class participated in the Debate Club under the leadership of Mr. Teply. The highlight of the football season was the crowning of our Homecoming Queen, lovely Julaine Smith. The queen's attendants were Mary Kay Taylor, Marilyn Brown, Joanne Oliver, and Barbara Smiley. Fern Jahnke had the honor of being the D.A.R. representative. Beverly Neddo and David Lee reigned as the royal J0al'1I'16 Oliver Shirley Ann Orr couple for the King and Queen of Hearts dance. David's at- tendants were Jim McRay, Glenn McGinnis, Kenneth Gabbert, Harry Steinfort, and Gary Murrison. Barbara McCluskey, Fern Jahnke, Marilyn Milne, Joan Huff, and Sharon Ratts attended Beverly. Judy Demuth and Paula Phillips attended Girls' State while Orlyn Holloway, Glenn McGinnis, Jim McRae, and Harry Steinfort went to Boys' State. Several of the school organizations had a senior as president. The Senior Kayettes had Beverly Neddo as presi- dent: Senior Kay and J Club president was John Agnos: Fern Jahnke was president of the Pep Club, Pete Derindin- ger, president of the F. F. A. We, the graduates of 1957, will be proud to add our names to the list of alumni of J.C.H.S. and hope the future graduates will, too, be proud of their school. Paula Lou Phillips Tod V. Phillips The past six years at Junction City High School have given special memories to each and every one of us. There are pleasant and unpleasant memories when we think of the times had in and out of classes, the teachers we have known, and the friends and acquaintances made here. Those six years seemed to go slowly: but now that they are over, we wonder how time could have gone so fast. We remember how little and scared we were when we first roamed the strange and unfamiliar halls of our school. By the time we were grad- uated from eighth grade though, we knew what was behind almost every door. We entered our freshman year to the tune of paddles and clothes worn inside out and backwards. Not many fresh- men forget initiation day at the hands of the seniors! We were covered with lipstick, shoe polish, and anything else the seniors could find to smear on us. Kurt Kessinger, John Agnos, Terron Brown, and Dave Lee were our class officers. Sharon Ruth Ratts Gerald Eugene Sherraden Our first real taste of high school life came when we were sophomores. We were now allowed to participate in senior high activities and hold offices in various organizations. We also had the honor of cleaning the gym after the prom. Class officers were Kathie Kalmar, Harry Steinfort, Joan Huff, and Phil Ziegler. As juniors we put on the prom Moonlit Terrace under the patient guidance of Miss Bignall. The skyline of the city provided an enchanting view from the roof garden setting. Jimmy James' band provided the dance music for us and our guests, the seniors. Glenn McGinnis starred in the title roll of the junior play Mn Peepers. Kurt Kessinger, Jim McRae, Judy Demuth, and Barbara Smiley were the class officers. We were very proud of om' class rings with 1957 on them, for then we realized we would soon be seniors. Glenn McGin- nis came out first in the hot race to be Student Council President for the following year. Patricia Dian Shockey Barbara Jane Smiley Eartha Mae Smith Gary R. Smith ...19...
