Iimmie Larson Terry Kennedy Carol Kidd LaVina Marie Kidd Frances Carol Leonard Richard Loader A s jimiors our musical and dramatic abilities came into the full view of the public. The oper- etta, H.M.S. Pinafore, was under the direction of Charles Neal. Willie Spencer, Mickey Stew- art, Bob Patterson, judy Stark, Rodney Craft, and Harold Heaberlin were in the cast. Nine Girls was a mystery play. This was quite different from other plays that had been put on in our high school and was under the direction of Robert Kessler. The nine girls were Connie Neddo, Bev Wells, Barb McKinnon, Ann Mc- Millin, Carolyn Huber, Wilma Woodruff, Judy Diubon, Peggy Schippert, Marilyn Taylor, and Lois Swart. A debate club was organized byjoseph Merr- itt, one of our faculty members. As juniors, those who took part were Sally Shellhaas, Chan Duryea, Lee Quisenberry, and Fred Ritter . Those taking constitution went to Topeka to visit the Kansas Senate and House of Represen- tatives. The trip was fun as well as educational and gave us a better understandingof our state government. The high-light of om' junior year was the prom, with its theme Evening in Paris . All of us put in many long hard hours of work and worry into the decorations, food, and program. .ay . But we worked the hardest trying toconceal the theme from the Seniors. We had replicas of the Effiel tower ,Arc de Triumphe and other land- marks of Paris. Our program centered about the dancing of famous Parisian Can-Can Girls of the Moulen Rouge. Our guests, the Seniors, sat at sidewalk cafe tables and listened and danced to the music of jimmy james Band. The year 1955-56 was full of activity. We are Seniors at last. The sports stars--Russell Gaston, jack Hall, Allen Irwin, Vincent Driski, joe Hudley, and Harold Heaberlin--have played outstandingly in their sport fields. We have a high percentage on the honor roll. Because of outstanding scholastic ability, a number have been offered scholarships to use in the colleges of their choice. We have put out a good school paper, The Blue jay which carries all impor- tant school news. Of course our POW WOW is the best everg at least that is what Miss Torge- son, our sponsor, says. The following are the clubs in which we have a Senior as president: Dramatics, Judy Durbong Pep Club, Peggy Schippertg Kayettes, jane Carrg I Club, Russell Gastong Kays, jack Hallg Ushers, Roy Colemeng Student Coimcil, Don Hampton. -19-
