MOTTO Today we launch--where shall we anchor ? COLORS - Light Blue and Silver FLOWER - Red Rose CLASS OFFICERS Richard Searls, George Hohman, To the High School we will always remember: We lmow that our brief stay on this earthis just one min- ute second in the sands of all times. Each generation thinks, This I have done, and points with prideto its accomplish- ments. In much the same way the classes gone before have rested on their laurels, have been graduated, and have left another class in their place. Ever upward we find the climb and though afew a.re lost, there canbe no turning back. Each year we bld farewell to those going into the sunset, and wel- come in a new set. I'll bet you still remember your first look at our class as we walked in, fresh from 6th grade, and still just the llttllest blt afraid. We were soon absorbed by your walls. Remember how seriously we took our first class election ? Then as the final vote was counted, we found our officers were Billie Ann Dowdell, Norma Halsted, Sally Powers, and Faye Woodward. We were really quite pleased with ourselves. As 8th graders we were no longer afraid and green, but we still had room ln which to grow. We held our class -officer contest and came out with Dale Hartung, Gary Brown, Bill Maduros, and Cheryl jameson on top. It seems strange now, but American History seemed a little hard. The mighty Freshmen ride again! Yes,we were initiated in fine style. Our little classmen roamed the halls for one day looking much like fugitive Indians away from the reserva- tion. For,freshmen officers we had Marvin Phillips, Glenn Whlte,Betsy Burnham, and Donbowdell. That year we shone In organlzatims--Susan Lloyd was president of the junior Kayettes and Dale I-Iartung d the junior Kays. Ye olde Sophomore days come next, with Richard Searls, Bill Maduros, Winkie Killian, and Cheryl jameson as our leaders. By then we had a chance to select some of our sub- jects. Many screams came out of the biology room on the days we did the disecting-this probablybrought many chuckles from you. In Latin II, as many will remember, we learned Tempus Fugit. ' Yes, time does fly and soon we found we were jimlors. jackye Green, Glenn White As juniors we were quite Hit. We had some cheerleaders, had officers in Kays, Kayettes, Usher's Club, Pep Club-a finger in every pie. Our officers for the year were Dale Har- tung, Keith McC1uskey, Billie Ann Dowdell, and Patty Marston. Under Miss Bignall and Winkie Killian an Enchanted Forest emerged--the prom furnished for the Seniors. Then as the year wore on and we received our class rings, we realized that soon we would be Seniors. As Seniors we edited the Blue jay and produced the Pow Wow. We are well represented in all organizations and we have officers in them, too. Sue Abbott was head cheerleader. Remember the queens out of our class? For homecoming it was Patty Marston with Sue Abbott, Betsy Burnham, jackye Green, and Winkie Killian as her attendants. Our King and Queen of Hearts were Cheryl jameson and Gary Cassetty. Shirley Harris, Faye Woodward, janice Caspar, and Orvilla Homer were the Queen's Ladies and Keith McCluskey, john Yoimg, George Hohman, and Loren Davidson were Knights for the King. The day we take our diplomas we shall be launch- ing out into the sea of life. The class of '55 was imder the leadership of Richard Searls,George I-Iohman,jackye Green, and Glenn White. lt's strange, isn't it? much. We are proud of the Freshman, junior a.nd Senior plays , the operettas, the proms, and the participation of our class We claim that our leaders are the We feel we have accomplished so in the high school sports. best and we know we will succeed, but, to you, we are only one of many others. Every year another class passes from your portals to the outside world. We are indebted to you and your wisdom. Now, as our time to go has finally come, you will add our names and our class to the list with your alumni. The fleeting moments of high school are over forus DOW, and in our place stand the juniors: they will be a fine class and carry on the tradition. We are leaving your walks, but in our hearts you will forever hold a fond position. Sincerely, The Class of 1955
