HIGH SCHOOL YEAR BOOK 1910. January l.-Coach Platt gets married in Topeka. January 3.-School opens again after one grand time of social dis- sipation during the holidays. Some of the old boys pay us a visit in chapel. January 7.-Seniors in their glory. They start out with a fine sleighing party and wind up with an oyster feast at Ada Sc0tt's. January 10.-Mr. Heusner announces in chapel that all the little Freshies who won't work, must return to the joys of the Eighth Grade. Senior Class Play cast announced. 'A good deal of buzzing by one called Buzzer. January 18.-Doctor Harshaw visits school and tests our brains. January 21-22.-Final exams. Senior Query: Am I going to gradu- ate??? Freshman Query: Is it back to the 8th'Grade for me?'?? January 25.-First sign of spring. Baseball makes its appearance. January 27.-Johnnie Greene decides Freshman life is too slow for him and joins the Senior Crew. January 31.-Seniors hold their first play practice. The boys enjoy a shower bath. February 2.-We discover that the new chapel arrangement has some class to it. February 11.-The Seniors entertain the Juniors at the Senior- Junior Reception at Taylor Hall. Great time. February 14.-Mr. Heusner reviews the petition for a new schedule and also the spelling lesson. February 17.-The Juniors temporarily lose a worthy member. Philosopher Little emerges from the bush. February 24.-Much sparking and shocking in the laboratory. The Physics class studies electricity. March 2.-The school demoralized by an attack of spring fever. March 3.-The Chapel in which Strickland does not read the poem. Base ball game. - March 4.-The Orchestra shocks the faculty by playing We Won't Get Home Till Morning, etc. March 7.-The Weston fever hits the school. Many long hikes and much stiffness of limb. March 11.-We take a holiday and let the faculty go to Lawrence to discuss our further education. March 19.-The track team also runs at Chapman. ' March 22.-Page 162, He Was a Little Tin Soldier, sung to perfection by the Senior boys. A large 5th hour delegation take a plunge in the icy waters of the Smoky. March 24-25.-Mid- '11 Quizzes. How little I know. . March 25.-Base P th, yes, just 17-2, that's all, with Abilene on the long end. March 30.-Sen threatened with arrest on charge of cruelty to dumb animalsg liz: .,,.sJ9igeon with the Class colors on got loose accidentally f?J in Cha fel. Q April 1.-J. C. H. S. nas a holiday. QAPRIL FOOLJ Song books and responsive readings disappear mysteriously and Miss Ballou sings America April 2.-For the second time of the season, the ball team takes a balloon ride: this time at Chapman. April 4.-The Senior rings come. Ain't it pretty! April 6.-A busy day. The Athletic Association holds a tag day to raise money. The Seniors have a holiday and in the evening present their play, The Toastmaster, before a full house. April 7.-We yawn all day. April 8.-We defeat Enterprise H. S. in a good ball game, 9-0. Aprli 11.-Mr. Heusner delivers a chapel oration on Yellow Fruit. April 13.-The Class Honor Students are announced. April 15.-Track and base ball squads go to Clay Center. April 20.-The 1910 Year Book goes to print.
