Remember in the first grade when Susan Wood got the dollar for not missing any days of school? She didn't like school at first though! She cried the whole first two weeks. Danny set the record that year for getting the most whippings in any one year. How about in the second grade when all those e s hr and Danny !l ra ers got t own around, especially at Gary In the third grade our good-grade-maker, Barbara Courtney, came to us from Spearsville. She came up north to the city to continue her education. Thank goodness she saw the light and didn't get pulled under by Spearsville ! ll The fourth grade brought out undescribable Dewanna Brantley from Dallas. Everyone knows everything is bigger in Texas! They must have said that about Dewanna's mouth!! Randy Jones, do you remember: I didn't make it, in Mrs. Cullins' room? Remember how much homework we all had in the fifth grade? Wow I ! ! Robby never seemed to find time to get up his lessons outside of class. Mr. Barrett fixed that! Robby had to sit on the steps outside every day and get all his homework!! fHe wasn't alone usu- ally thoughlj mm

All those chapel programs were really cool weren't they! QBLEAH! lj We got into more trouble during those things! I l-low about all those romances! In the fourth grade Arden and Susan Nelson used to fight over cute little Terry Cates. And the long lasting love of Arden and Danny - Susan Wood and Danny - Barbara and Brad - Vicki and Brad - Carolyn and Brad. Man was that Brad in demand! He gave Barbara a Valentine's Day present and Vicki and Carolyn cried all day because he didn't give them anything! The day Mrs. Farrar had to stay in the office so long in the seventh grade proved to be a WILD one. Those paper balls somehow got stuck behind the maps and the pencil FELL out the window. Mrs. Farrar came back to find the room about a foot deep in paper balls. When she pulled the maps down the next time, there she found all of our paper balls just as they poured down on her head! I She made us copy all the pages in the dictionary in the back of the spel- ling book. In the eighth grade we made enough trips to the office didn't we! fl-'or various reasons! !J Boy could we get into mischief! We made the big change and became mighty freshmen. WOW! About half of the freshman girls were going steady with senior boys that year. For example: Donna and Peter, Barbara and David, and Susan'and Jimmy. Our junior girls basketball team had a perfect record that year: O-15! Remember when Steven fainted in Mr. Hollis' class? Danny had to go get a wet towel for him. By the time Danny finished with Steven, Steven's shirt was soaking wet! The humming heater in Mr. Hollis' sixth period math class was a source of much laughter. ln the tenth grade we started to settle down a bit from our junior high and freshman years. fThank goodness!! That's the year the football team played Grady for the first time. WOW! They sure do grow big guys up there, don't they? Junior literature class was wild when Mrs. Spooner would ask Danny and Randy Jones to read those silly plays. Blimey! You crazy nuts! Just leave it to Jones and McKinnon to get the whole class into an uproar, not to mention the hysterics of Mrs. Spooner!! Our senior year added the finishing touches to an unforgettable twelve years. We will never lose all the good memories that we have stored away now to laugh about with generations to come. We are no longer classmates as we have been for the years that have passed, but peo- ple that will become tomorrow's leaders. When man begins to understand, he will learn to love: when his love is understood, there will be everlasting peace.
