orewowl 0 flimve ew World The world is ever changing. Civilization has progressed from age to age until 1958, the International Geophysical Year and the beginning of the Space Era. Now, man is finally able to lift his thoughts from the familiar world around him and con- centrate upon the vast universe. In this fast moving period which brings with it new discoveries and dangers never before evident, none of us is sure of what lies ahead. However, through the hopes and the efforts of many, we have the opportunity to solve the mysteries of science and life. This new age presents a mo.re united mankind and a shared desire that peace may soon reign over our world, too long stained by material differences and scarred by war. In Julia Richman, we the class of 1958 are contemplating entrance into a new environment. No longer will we be protected, sheltered, and guided. We must take on our own individual responsibilities as we embark on new and unforeseen adventures in college, the business world, and marriage. We are self confident though, because we have been preparing for this time ever since we entered Julia Richman several years ago. We are now able to appreciate our high school training in the humanities, the arts, and sciences. This knowledge of the past has given us a better understanding of the present and the ability to cope with the problems of the future. Our hearts are filled with gratitude toward our teachers and parents who have opened the door to our brave new world.
