SEATED-Mrs. Denson, Madeline Ettenberg-President STANDING-Susan Agrippino--Secretary, Dharma Acosta-Assistant Treasurer, Eleanor Swann- Vice-President CNOT IN PHOTOGRAPH-Nina Bernardo-Treasurerb Senior fem Dear Seniors, When we leave Julia Richman this June we shall take much valuable knowledge with us. We shall also take with us memories, friends, and a better understanding of people which are just as valuable as the lessons we've learned from books. We have made friends here who have seen us grow up from bewildered Freshmen to sophisticated Seniors-friends with whom welve shared disappointments and failures, and many friends with whom we've shared happiness and success. Many of these girls we may never see again. Others we may meet in college or the business world. We'll remember how the same girl who wore bobby socks and a crew-neck sweater was a picture of elegance in her formal at the Prom. The excitement of Red Letter Day, the tears at graduation are just some of the fond remembrances We shall have of our days at Julia Richman. Besides these memories we shall have the great honor of being the first class to be gaduated with our new principal, Mrs. Buda. We would like to remain and see Julia Richman undergo the changes Mrs. Buda has in mind for it. But l,m sure sheall understand that the world is awaiting our arrival. As president of our class l'd like to wish you luck and happiness in whatever you undertake. Here's hoping our paths often cross. Always, Madeline Ettenberg

Brave New World The course of study we have taken Has prepared us to awaken To the new world now before us As we face it, all alone. We have been so well protected, Cloistered, pampered, and subjected To a gossamer dream of life, which, Now as graduates, we've outgrown, So that now, beneath the happy smile We're all wearing, as we file Through the doors that formed our haven During these four happy years, We wonder just how much we'll give This tempest world in which we live, This changing World of satellites And war with words, and nations' fears. And now, before this world we stand Holding Youth in steady hand, Looking hack, yet marching forward To an unknown, brave, new world. Penelope Lee Hope
