As we look back over these years we realize that our section teachers have been second mothers to us. They have watched us grow from timid freshmen to the young women we are now. They have tried to guide us out of the shadows and lighten the path which leads to success. It is with much gratitude and love that we, the members of the graduating class of 1957, bid adieu to our senior section teachers. 15

In the beginning there was strangeness, vastness, coldness. We entered the building slowly, Knowing nobody, Wfondering if we ever would know anybody. Then the weeks, the months glided swiftly by, And somehow The strangeness was familiar, The vastness was diminished, The coldness was no more. We became one, All part of this small city within the city. We greeted people in passing. They greeted us. Yve belonged. Years slipped past without our really noticing them, We were too busy growing up. We were occupied with clubs and projects And the serious business of learning. We wound our way upward through those years, And finally we reached the top, the pinnacle. And now we are leaving. Yet, it is not an ending, It is a beginning, the start ofa whole new life. In the beginning there was strangeness, vastness, coldness .... Murrie Alice Weinger
