MEDITATION Thick green carpets, wading through them, Like sea green moss or seaweed, silky and Twining. Twining round your fingers and body Twisting high, holding close like wet grass. Thick green carpets in an ivory room. Green and white, cooled and iced for a summer's Cool against the sultry heat of a June day Against the burning of an August moon. Cool .... Then you played. Music surged forth like a torrential storm And your soul was bared for all to see. This was a sin. Such beauty cannot be For mortal man. Passion, strong, stronger than Steel, stronger than a city, hot and burning Sweeping across the room like a rough brush Against a canvas, swifter than sight itself. Changing .... Red plush chairs, soft and luxurious Like a bonfire on a cool Autumn evening Mixed with the odor of dried leaves and red hot Flames and black smoke curling up and up. Red hot Hames licking a deep blue sky Hot like a burning sun shining down on Dusty city streets before a cool Spring rain. Red plush chairs in a yellow room. Hot .... 10 evening SHEILA BRODY
