'sux Seniors 13 14 Seniors 'nr AWP' U DERCLASSME The underclassmen are definitely a diverse group The freshman can be seen frantically scurrying through the campus clutching books to their chests in an effort to remain intact between classes The sophomores of course are old pros at least until someone reminds them that the words sophomore are sophomonc are probably directly related The Juniors guide by until they smugly usurp control from the hands of departing seniors. While this description may have some small truth, it is not the complete picture. True freshmen tend to be a little green, but they quickly become acclimatized to Judson's atmosphere and begin to take part in Judson outside of the classroom. The sophomores may seem overbearing at times but it is a sign that they've become a part of the Judson community. The juniors are often the best-liked of all the classes, mainly because they are vicarious participators in Judson society, and are not yet concerned with life after Judson . It is the underclassmen who make up the bulk of Judson, and they always rise to the occasion of being Judson's mainstays. 1 ri -,S 'Y ' 'YB ' .' a A Aguinaga, Victor - Alford, Gloria new Anderson, IL Elliott f l Anderson, Eric Anderson, Kirk xp wx - Anderson, Natalie Arends, Patty 'Q' 4 A Ashford, Suzanne Barnum, Fawn Barrett, Mike 1 Batey, Pamela Bathje, Beth Beaty, Stephanie Besch, Timothy Best, Bonnie Bilyeu, David N211 ' Fh- wr- . i Bingham, Roger if Q. 7 A ,mv Z Birchfield, Don '5- V: . 5.1 W , Bone, Lavell Boyd, Peter fe: ., x r if Brown, Glenn , Y Brown, Huntley Brunko, Lori iw I Bryan, Christina Budd, Kim i , 1 A W Seniors 15 Bulanek, Lisa Burley, Scott Buss, Elizabeth Butler, Cathy Carter, Kristen Carter, Leah Caskey, Aaron Cesaroni, Phil Chambers, Tim Charlton, Becky Christenson, Tim Clemmons, Gina Collins, Mark Conklin, Andy Conner, Jon Corcoran, Ken Dail, Danny Davis, Bryant Dawson, James 16 Underclassmen xl-Q' x-. . What Geason on Earth could have compelled us all to get so spitted up with no place to go but the gym? Even some of the alumni had returned on this special weekend to relive old memories and examine the Judson they had left behind years ago. The soccer players were heroes for the day as various couples, arm in arm, made their way toward an awaiting candlelight banquet and program. Sunday best? Alumni? Soccer? Banquet? it could only mean one thing-Homecoming, Judson College, 1985. Saturday started much as any other. The days activities were set in motion at a routine, yet oddly different, soccer game. More fans than ever before turned out to cheer on the Eagles as they battled. We still Wanted to celebrate the team's efforts throughout the year and what better way than to party, er, banquet? For weeks before, guys had spent hours pacing and wondering whether or not girls would turn down their invitations to the banquet. At the same time, girls had been testing hairstyles and trying out dresses while anxiously awaiting that special guy to ask them. Once we were all spitted up and ready to go we were great. The atmosphere was quite formal and yet comfortably laidback. Nets spanning the ceiling contained hundreds of autumn colored balloons, and candy corn on the tables completed the harvest atmosphere. During the program, the homecoming court was announced and, of course, special attention was paid to the 1985 Homecoming king and queen: Bill Edwards and Charlotte Robinson. As the program drew to a close, love-striken couples and other groups of friends made their way out to continue a night of fun. Homecoming 1985 made a lasting impression on the minds of many new students and alumni alike. Homecoming 43 44 Coronation 1. What's so special about Founder's Day? True, many will remember little more than a longer than usual chapel, five rows of Judson dignitaries, and all the Judson professors wearing graduation robes. Yet, in an odd way, it was a solemn time. After all, the entire day was set up to remember and pay tribute to Benjamin Browne, the college's original founder, and all of the other men and women that really laid the foundation for Judson College. Without each of them, there would be no Judson to attend. The end of Founder's Day ushered in another landmark on the college calendar-Parents' Weekend. And the parents came. In hordes. They came to scope out the campus where their poor little babies had been spending so much time away from home. Of course, to make things more interesting and acceptable for the Folks, we had to spruce up college life a little. The major occurence of the weekend was the Judson College student body talent show. Parents and students were pleasantly surprised to discover the hidden abilities and lack thereof that were sprinkled among the student body. As all good things do, parents' weekend came to a close. The parents began drifting off one by one, Judson life slowly returned to normal, and we would once find parking places in the Ohio!Wilson parking lot.
