' rg-ws:-wk-A The Judson Drama takes on a new act for 1977-78. The Genesis Players opened their season with a short three-act play written by Mr. James Cramer called, WHAT'S COOKING IN CAMELOT. The play was dedi- cated to the Founder's Day celebrations, it was an enter- taining take-off on the original CAMELOT by Shakes- peare. It was written in a satirical, witty manner, with a touch of wizardry popular in current motion pictures like STAR WARS. The costuming was designed appro- priately, fitting each player into their character. Mr. Cramer, the director of the Genesis Players, pulled together several new ideas for the team. First, they performed as a drama team, meeting daily to grow closer as a group and train for different character roles. Secondly, the team did not perform long two-hour plays, but rather short skits and one-act plays. Finally the team traveled to churches throughout the Midwest, and in California during Spring break. Because of these new ideas, the drama team became more meaningful for those students acting and in turn they brought more meaning to their perfonnances. Concentration helps Joy Frazier become more of the character she wishes to portray ftopl. In performing, expressions of the face and movement of the body become very important to Jeff Cooper, Annette Nortan, Julane Bower and Kraig Kleeman Cleftj. A l
