A visit to the new Bell Telephone Company Building proved both interesting and educational . . . and who doesn't appreciate an opportunity to miss some school? Officers from the Longview sheriif's department examined the building for possible clues to the identity of burglars who took over S300 from the school safe, September 18. but There Were Other Diversions. l. , Mr. Muntean seemed to revert to his second childhood during Fire Prevention Week as he demonstrated to amused students the proper procedure for starting the toy fire engine which was given as prize for the best fire prevention poster.

Yards of paper went into spirit signs which decorated the halls on Fridays, urging the team on to victory. Enthusiastic cheerleaders led the Blue Devils onto the field to the tune of our fight song. I2 This reception at the Carro1ls', was one of the many which stu- dents attended following home games.
