VARSITY On paper, one might have scored this year's basketball team one of the potential greats in Judge's history, a team which might have carried her colors to the state high school tournament. Impressive pre-season wins over Morgan and Bear River gave early proof of great possibilities. But, playing lackadaisical ball at times, and losing key men during the course of the season, those potentialities remained largely dormant. The result was that the final standings found the red-and-gold gracing the basement, with a two-won, eight-lost record. Ted Raterman, bulldog captain and one of the high scorers of the state, deserves mention for his fine play and competitive spirit throughout the season. Members remaining after this year's graduation have already sounded the traditional cry: Wait till next year! -72- Jgcxln Q VARSITY RECORD Judge Morgan 34 Cpracticej Judge Tooele 43 Judge Bear River 43 Cp.J Judge Cyprus 55 Judge Cyprus 62 Judge Murray 54 Judge Murray 42 Judge Grantsville Judge Grantsville 44 Judge Bingham 58 Judge Bingham 50 Judge Tooele 53 JUNIOR VARSITY The Junior Varsity again proved the training ground for the varsity. Even though it continued, for a second year in a row, its 'also-ran' status in the final standings, its playing was spectacular at times, and steady for the most part of the season. Under the tutelage of Father Kenny, consistant advancement was shown by the squad. With hard work and application, several of its members give promise of great things on the Varsity next year. With walls already up, there is real hope that it will be ready tor occupancy tor the coming school year. Besides the gym, a shop and several classrooms are included in the struc- ture.
