Four, three year lettermen, Russ Ladley, Steve Oordt, Mike Trout and Jim Sutherland along with Bill Be- mente and Ed Jones provided the ex- perience of the team. Rookies, Row- land Tegio, David Russo, and Kirk Johanson spirited the team with their youthful aggressiveness. This balance was one reason the team performed so well. Hi Reb Girls Strike For Top Title 'Enthusiastic togetherness creates the wins, expressed Girl's Soccer Coach Mr. Glenn Greer. Though wuwins are not the number one goal, we do win I One of the many strengths were the returning veterans. Former All- Stars Hope Grimm and Nancy Nei- meic, and former All-Star nominees Teresa Hei and Teresa Yocom seem to be the team's natural leaders. 'Ev- ery player is vital to the team, of feared Coach Greer. Everyone works together. There was not a set group who played varsity or J.V. games: they traded of and were Welded where they were necessary. Coach Greer, aided his son, Coach Scott Greer, taught them basic skills as well as the more complex art of working to- gether as a team. Scott Greer relates, '7t's really fun to coach the girls. They are quick to learn new skills. Selecting the starting lineup be- came tougher throughout the season, there was so much talent to choose from. Coach Greer admitted, It's a nice dilemma to be in! A salmon hatchery has been constructed and maintained in Juanita 's oufn back- yard. Advised by Mr. Gib Moore, the Ma- rine Biology class watch over and take care ofthe life and survival of several hundreds fy' thousands rye salmon. Because ry' the amount of buildings being constructed in the Juanita Creek area, damage is visible to our wildlife. Erosion from upstream, and sewage from every house in the area has been the immediate cause. The Enhancement Program has re- ceived help from Government agencies, including King County Resource Plan- ning, and Metro. The prtgect is known statewide, being thejirst ty' itls kind at a High School. The class is rewarding as well, every- body works together and each person has a task they must complete each week. No matter what look you desired, coordina- tion with individual pieces came easily. Both ladies and gentlemen wore a rain- bow of stylesg casual, dress, preppy, ac- tive sports-wear, and workmen. Stu- dents were seen in a daily mix and match atmosphere. Ladies casual wear included: striaght legged jeans teamed with blazers over plaid shirts,' the western look high lighted with cowboy boots and hats: the preppy look of high collars, skinny ties and penny loajizrs. The ultra-casual in- cluded workmen overalls, painter pants and the basic jeans. On special days, the sophisticated look was achieved with wool skirts and vests, silk dresses and speciality fabric pant coordinates. Accessories played a integral part in each style of the fashion scene. Casual accessories included jewelry, high-heel shoes, belts and lepal ornamentation. Pearl necklaces, textured hose, the clas- sic pump shoe and monogrammed sweaters were predominate accessories with the sophisticated look. Men dis- played a toned-down version of each look in their daily clothing styles. Sweaters over dress shirts were popular teamed with jeans or slacks. Gentlemen often added a blazer to pull the look together. Natural earth tones were favored color with the gentlemen. Popular head gear included felt cowboy hats, and logoed baseball hats. All mens styles included a limited display of jew- elry. School fashion was individual, one day western, then sophisticated, then cas- ual, with each person dressing for their daily activities. Sa rnple Fashions: ' First row, left to right: Denise Davis, Debbie Kennedy, Greg Malcom, Dawn Wick, and Marisa Beresford. Second row: Mike Philpott, Arla Pomeroy, Shannon Britton, Karen PeU'ry, Tony White, and Russell Tegio. Channon Britton and Jimmy Har- nasch are right on target with the pre- ppy look. X ' Denise Davis and Russel Tegio re- flect the baggie uptown style. 0 Casual and polished, Tony White and Greg Malcom review music. ' Debbie Kennedy dressed for the con- struction site in the increasingly popu- lar workmen overalls, Mike Philpott and Arla Pomeroy out on the Juanita range.
