DRAMATIC CLUBS The W. R. Dramatic Club, which consists of the freshmen and sophomores, and the Thespian Society, which consists of the junior and seniors, organized early in the year and held meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each member of the upper class group had a position corresponding to those used in actual play production. The other group had the following officers: President ---------------- Harriet Stevens Secretary ------- f -------- Gloria Pflibsen These two clubs presented three one-act plays, December 10. All members had roles in either 'Alex- ander's Horse', 'glice's Blue Gown' or 'The Pampered Darling'. The local literary contest, held March 2, was entered by more students than for several years. ORATION Doris Walgren ----- The Enemy of Peace Earl McDaniel ----- Peace Letha Fifield ----- First Inaugural Eugene Forrest ---- Take the Profit Out of Kidnapping Harriet Stevens--+The New South Of these entries Doris Walgren was chosen highest of the girls, entitling her to enter the county contest, March 15, at Aledog where she placed first. Earl ranked highest of both boys and girls and therefore entered both the county and the sub-district. He received third at the county. DRAMATIC Betty Kiddoo-f ------ ---- Macbeth E Pauline Walgren h------- -Ile Ruth Noble -------------- The Lilac Lady Pauline Walpren ranked highest and entered both the county and sub-district contests. At the county she placed third and at the sub-district KAledo, March B73 she placed fourth. She also ent- ered Verso Reading at the sub-district where she placed third.
