In Eoing all this work Mr. Ingalsbe was our coun- selor and guide. This year rob, Russell, and Earl made the team in baseball, ard Russell also made the track team. Not long after school started last fall we chose Eileen president, Pauline vice-president, and Betty Marie, secretary-treasurer. Then came the task of finding color combinations, flowers, and a motto that the majority of the class would accept. Finally green and gold was decided upon with the violet as class flower. Our motto is: Our aim: Success, Our hope: To Win. At the beginning of the year Wayne Haas, Don Baugh, and Russell Davis started back to school, but they were dissatisfied so they quit, leaving only five boys in the class. As we were badly in need of money, we gave WA Full Housen for our senior play. This play, lacking the mystery and excitement of WTiger Houson, was not so well liked. In accordance with the other classes the sen- iors holped with the all high school party, held December 23rd. We furnished rolls and pop. This year Russell Crawford and Earl McDaniel made the first team in baseball, Bob Gates, Don Walker, and Russell in basket-ball, and Russell in track. Every year the D. A. R. gives a trip to Wash- ington U. C. to one girl from each state. Each high school can select a girl from the senior class for a chance on the trip. Forrest Elene McKown was chosen by our class this year.

When we started to school as juniors, we had a very interesting year before us. After having elected Pauline Walgren president, Marne Jayne Holmes vice-president, and Betty Marie Kiddoo sec- retary-treasurer, we were ready to proceed. First we enjoyed helping the seniors initiate the freshmen. Next an invitational progressive bunco party was held at the hall. High prizes went to Martha May Seiver and Eddie Munson and consola- tion prizes to Earl McDaniel and Verla Holmes. In the fall Ethel Dewhirst had her credits transfer- red to the Neponset high school and is still there Harold Harroun started in Joy after two years in the Aledo high sehooll Early in the fall the seniors decided they wanted a make-up box and new stage equipment for their play. They persuaded us to help them by pay- ing half after the track meet. It was a great im- provement for the stage, but it made a large dent in our treasury. In the latter part of our sophomore year Mr. Olson from the Josten Company came to our class and convinced us that we should select our class rings and pay a dollar on them so that they would come earlier in the following year. By October 7 everyone ordering a ring had turned his money in and all had received their rings. During the basket-ball season this class sold candy at the home games. Russell Crawford repre- sented our class on the team this year. In March some of the girls in our class were good enough vocalists to get to go to the state contest with Miss Dewhirst and help win first place. Earl McDaniel placed third in the oratori- cal contest in Aledo, and Marna Jayne Holmes won second plice inbthe county piano contest. After the many, various Nvacationsn we finally get together long enough to pick out a play. Prac- tice was delayed because we decided NHeart Trouble didn't have enough action, so we had to wait for information concerning nTiger Housean We added much to the stage faithfully, and the play was a big success. ' Before the play was off our hands we were work ing for the Junior-Senior Banquet. The nautical idea was carried out with a ship as centerpiece and programs in the shape of sail boats. For each senior we had a corsage of a gladiola and sweet- peas, and then pictures were taken to keep as a memory of the pleasant evening. Dancing and card playing followed the banquet.
