Zhe Chief — four dant on High School {Jourdanton, Zems We, the staff of 1968 wish to dedicate our edition of the CHIEF to MISS JANE PERRY. Teaching English and Speech as well as sponsoring the yearbook and newspaper and dramatic activities, are just a few of the projects for which she has been responsible. In addition, she has sponsored this years graduating class since they were Freshmen. Miss Perry has proved to be a good teacher, and valuable asset to the faculty, and a wonderful friend to every student at Jourdanton High School. We sincerely hope that this is as great an honor to Miss Perry as she has been to us. A great personality1 a winning smile— a warm heart— her keys to friendliness. 1968 At y.J Zke X ear We.. . Winding Up 1967 The NHS was generous enough to present the JHS student body and faculty with 90 minutes of interesting happenings. First, the new NHS members were sworn in, then, David Riley entertained by singing and playing several Western songs. Two hippies, the devil, Santa Claus, and a Christmas Angel were the characters in the faculty skit. Mr. King sang Christmas songs to all in French. The Speech class presented their original skit, and last but not least, the NHS presented the faculty members with gag gifts. 1 Santa, who are your friends?” Mrs. Hayes, there is no escape! Flag Day was a patriotic scene with Jennifer Linam raising the flags, while Bill Stoman, Jr., played Taps. Shirley Anderson sang a patriotic song, and Frances Locke gave a speech. Dress up Day was especially nice, the kids dressed neatly and it was a wonderful sight to be seen so snazzily dressed There were two Teacher's Days and the FHA girls provided them with cookies and other tidbits for their morn- ing coffee breaks. These pictures capture a few of the many-sided events of the Week. I can't see the flag!! Shirley, wait! You're not through yet! This is dress up day??? Hey, here I am!! Athletics L.
