The Campus! !............How well we shall recall the way- worn short-cuts, the mesquite trees that shaded us from the Texas sun, and the buildings echoing with once familiar voices, and remembered footsteps. We come to J. H. S., and we depart. And t as we depart, we realize how great a part this campus and this phase of life have played in our struggle to develop from the students into the leaders of to- morrow . We are glad that our fortunes let us walk this way...................................

SvJpwtfMhti - %i. Akwjp flcmon, To a Man----- The time has come to pause--to turn and take a backward glance. We behold a profusion of memories and images, imposed one upon another ;”------ We remember a lunchroom crowded with scurrying Juniors, arms loaded with crepe paper--purple crepe paper; and on a ladder, towering above them, and working just as diligently, we recall seeing a man. We have visions of a Hawaiian supper--Seniorsseated on the ground, munching contentedly on chunks of bar-b-cue. and sporting leis--and in the midst of the students, we recall seeing a man. We can quickly call to mind the gaiety and laughter, and also the finality marked by the Senior Trip--May. 1963. The pool table, the shuffle board, the archery range, the dance floor, and the lake--we remember all of these, and in the midst of them, we recall seeing a man. A man--a friend. For making our High School Days ones which will glow in our memories all our lives, and for being a part of those memories, the Senior Class of Jourdanton High School. 1963, would like to thank you, Mr. Harmon. So we have paused, and taken a backward glance, and found a profusion of memories of which you are a part. Betty Bowen Senior, 1963 8
