Stop Action For the first time, soccer at JKS- Springdale stretched from early September until mid January. With a schedule that included many tough opponents, the Generals worked hard and competed well. Led all season by Senior Philip Reams and Junior Joe Conder, greatly. With key defenders Randy Ash, Jeff Thompson, and Scoreboard JKSS 8 Gaffney Day 1 JKSS 2 Darlington 3 JKSS 1 Cambridge 5 JKSS 3 Daffney Day 2 JKSS 0 Darlington 1 JKSS 0 Brandon Hall 1 JKSS 1 Catawba 8 goalie Bryan Young, the defense also proved formidable. The highlight of the season included three matches against cross-town rival Lugoff-Elgin. All matches went into overtime and some ended with dramatic shootouts. All players showed a lot of enthusiasm and were greatly improved over last year’s team. Reflections This year JKS Springdale participated in a vast number of extra-curricular activities. Each student enthusiastically joined together not only to enjoy themselves but to learn something in the process. One favorite program was the Get Smart Program, consisting of reformed C.C.I. prisoners. Other popular events were the Veteran’s Day Assembly and the annual JKS Horse Show. 19
