Although an easy atmosphere settles upon the Krolewicz classroom, much work gets accomplished there. Mornings are a time of seriousness, for this is when “Krolo” reads his paper and passes out everyone’s folders which contains the work for the day. The thing Mr. Krolewicz most enjoys about teaching is watching a student understand a concept for the first time. 17

Most of the students have different goals, such as attaining a G.E.D. certificate, entering J.K.S., their hometown high school or another boarding school. All in all, they arc a “mixed bag which is constantly changing. 16

The atmosphere in Mr. Ball’s classroom reflects his philosophy: “If you come to my class, be prepared to work hard ... I'll push you to your limit and beyond. I’ll challenge you to make accomplishments you never dreamed possible ... I care about you and know what you are going to have to face in life. That is why I make you work and demand so much of you now ... to make it easier for you later.”.
