Joseph Kershaw Acadertf « Camden, S.C 1970-71 ■ 3 5 6 7 8 9 15 Dedication — Geoffrey L. Groat He was a model his flock could understand, For first he did and afterwards he taught ... He was a kind man, full of industry. Many times tested by adversity and always patient ... He never spoke a word more than was needed. And that was said with dignity and force. And quick and brief. He was of grave discourse. Giving new weight to virtue by his speech. And gladly would he leam and gladly teach. 17 Chaucer Board of Trustees Robert E. Barnwell - Chairman William W. Wannamaker - Vice-Chairman James V. Parker - Secretary S. J. McKinney - Treasurer Alice S. Boykin Ray F. Clark Donald Campbell Bernard Ranson Judy Thiel To the above group we render our sincere thanks for their continued devotion and efforts to promote and enrich every phase of our school life at Joseph Kershaw Academy. It is heartwarming to know that we can depend upon your continued sacrifice and helping hand, so that Joseph Kershaw Academy will continue to progress and to fulfill the purposes envisioned by those who were respon- sible for its establishment. GROAT Headmaster The year 1970-71 has been an important one for all of us at Joseph Kershaw Academy. Many changes have taken place during the last twelve months, and with the renovation of the stable our campus is more beautiful than ever. Our increased enrollment has brought JKA many new challenges. The faculty has worked long and hard to make the year exciting and constructive. We feel we have been successful. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of the last school year has been the feeling of kinship built up within the individuals in the school. There are few things more gratifying than seeing students and faculty working to- gether to reach common goals. It appears clear that JKA has begun to build toward a long and bright future. With the continued dedication of the faculty and the generous support of the parents, I am confident we will grow and prosper. MRS. EDNA REYNOLDS Secretary 47 MRS. BETTY LOU NORRIS Secretary MRS.
