From its infancy, when it pioneered new education, jor- dan has sought to train young men and women to succeed, whether they choose vocational skills or college degrees. jordan has grown in size through the years, both in student population and build- I ings. It has added courses and innovations, soaring mightily in both vocational and academic areas. Soaring is our spirit, our pride . . . fighting to excel. . . reaching to achieve. . . andjordan gradu- ates can fly high in their careers with excellent school backgrounds to help and to motivate. 1988 marks the fiftieth graduating class to leave jordan. With pride and a soaring spirit, the year- book staff wishes to dedicate this yearbook to the graduates of the Class of 1938. School Colors: Carmen and Grey School Emblem: The Red jacket U School Letter: School Motto: For God, For Country, For jordan Athletic Motto: I am ready. Former alumni fincluding representatives from the original Industrial High Schoolj were honored at a reception and program in the spring of 1987. The school year just wouldnit be the same if we j didn't have the colors that people were wearing, as i well as the right hairstyles. This year, volume perms were in for the girls, with longer hair becom- ing more popular. A softer, fuller look created styles such as the bob, the stacked bob, and modi- fied wedges. For the guys, the length was short, to achieve flat tops and spikes, perming and high- lighting were also the norm. Colors in clothes cen- tered around blue, red, pink, black, and grey. Spuds Mackenzie was a popular t-shirt item, and stone- washed denim was a hit. Also, the girls enjoyed softer styles, with more lace. 4 N . i 010' f Jffaf . fi .li J Li- David Wilson and Chris Tolbert seem confident with their style of posing for the camera. BJ. Smith creates a contemporary look with her Reebok high-tops, slouch socks, and acid- washed mini-skirt. Red hair was still going strong in the fashion world this year. F l RED JACKET This year, as every year, the yearbook staff worked very hard to create a first class book that will be enjoyed by the students and staff atjordan High. It took many hours, many missed lunches, and a great deal of dedication. I want to thank my staff members from the bottom of my heart. YOU KNOW this book exists because of your efforts. Also, with- 200 out the patience and kindness of several teachers, as well as understandin from Mr. Screws and Mrs. Lawson, this book would probalgly still be in the making this time next year. I love you all . . . and really, really thank you.
