Not All Work Under the guidance of Mrs. Katzung and Miss Robin the 1959-60 season was high-lighted by the swimming meet held at Jordan . . . Lincoln, Franklin, and Northeast schools participated . . . Jordan scored over all teams . . . dancing, apparatus, soft ball, bas- ketball, deck tennis, volley ball, badminton were en- joyed . . . Lois Hencir captured badminton title . . . Jordan girls won 3 0r 4 games at the university . . . a full year of fun. With Mr. Paasch and Mr. Rodeghir supervising, Jordan boys started the year with football . . . Winter months were filled with apparatus work, swimming, and water basketball . . . a short volleyball season fol- lowed . . . Black Angels of the ninth grade, Bucket Boys of eighth, and Scorpians 0f seventh won basket- ball honors . . . the annual classic-men vs. ninth grade boyseproved the boys winners, . 16:14 . . . spring saw tumbling, tether ball, horseshoe, and soft- ball leagues battling it out. Paper Sale, Costume Day, Tea We of June 60 In 1958 JORDAN was a new world to us . . . we ttlittleh seventh graders entered this sphere as under- lings . . . we looked up to the older hkidsh and swal- lowed a lot of hgaflw about answer-books and elevator passes . . . what DAYS those were . . . moving from room to room was confusing but exciting . . . auditorium programs and extra-curricular activities were pure delights . . . HUGE PAPER SALES and the PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM were bewildering. 1959 brought us one step Closer to the level of the 66big wheel? . . . we TOVVERED over the seventh graders . . . we condescendingly exclaimed, ttWere we ever so naive? . . . with eighth grade came new privileges: singing in the CHOIR and playing in the BAND . . . competing in the HISTORY CONTEST and the SPELLING BEE . . . choosing ELECTIVES for our ninth grade year with pride . . . having the privilege of being the FIRST eighth grade class at JORDAN to have a chapter of the NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY. 1960 saw us the uBIG VVHEELSW . . our noses were in the air . . . more enthusiasm than ever . . Ninth Grade Governors we elected OUR OWN COUNCIL and CLASS OF- F ICERS to plan ninth grade activities . . . we took part in the most hilarious and wonderful COSTUME DAY Jordan has ever seen . . . our ninth grade paper sale was a HUGE success . . . enjoyable TAG DAY was introduced as a means of contributing to Channel Two . . . the FACULTY vs. NINTH GRADE BOYS volleyball game turned out as EXPECTED . . . the boys won 16-14 . . . 42 ninth graders were recog- nized at a dignihed induction ceremony and a recep- tion for the students and proud parents . . . then RIBBONS . . . what a jumbled but happy day was EXCELSIOR . . . our memorial, a redecorated and refurnished teachers, lunchroom . . . then our own 1960 IORDANIAN and THE MIZAR . . . how proud can one class he of its history in writing! The DAY of mingled emotions dawned . . . FIN- ISHING DAY . . . we leave the so big but so small world we entered three short years ago . . . we look forward to the worlds ahead of us . . . senior high . after that, the WORLD WILL BE WHAT WE MAKE IT.
