Crow. were never dull Mr. Martens was blessed with soloists this year: Julie Bennett, Nancy Empting, Karen Gates, Brian Grivna, Julie Godfrey, Judy Fish, J ack Larsen, Bruce Sund, Jean Storm and Dorothy White. The choirs gave several programs throughout the year: at Christmas, at Easter, for Memorial Day and climaxed the season with a Spring Concert. They also sang at Henry and at Ramsey. Houlton. all along elaooeo The place was Jordan; the auditorium was hushed as the choirs made their first appearance in October of 1958. Under the direction of Mr. Martens, strains of the old, beloved carols from 111 voices of the Mixed Choir and 70 voices of the Girls, Choir mingled in harmony and filled Jordants halls at Christmas time with melody. Under the leadership of Mr. J arnstrom the orchestra supplemented the singing with stringed ensemble in the lower hall. The effect was one of quiet and beauty.
