5. SMITH W. INGISON G. ANDRUSKO S. CROW Secretary President Vice president Treasurer and qxoe $inally We flnally made it! As last we were on top with our noses in the air. Three long years ago Jordan was a new and ex- citing experience. We were the little, insignificant seventh graders looking up to the ninth graders with their noses in the air. We were in a daze and ready prey for ttsure fire answer booksii and elevator passes that were never honored. That was in 1957. In 1958 we were the eighth graders, the messy, naughty in-betweeners. We did, however, have a Talent Show; a History Contest; a trip to the Cen- tennial train; the choir, to which we could now belong, sang at Nokomis; and the band played at Ramsey. We also participated in the Minneapolis Song Festival. We sold the passes and the answer books to unsus- pecting seventh graders. Seriously, though, this has been our best year at Jordan, and we loved every minute of it. We elected our own council to work out our ninth grade activities under the counseling of individual ninth grade teachers. We had Book Week when favorite characters paraded the halls; Costume Day when a few zany characters gave out with boisterous gaiety and Iive oiclock motorists gazed bewilderingly at a ghoulish collection of images, tired but happy, on their way home. ttA Night to Rememberi, was really great! Paper sales were tops! We yelled ourselves hoarse at the Ninth Grade Cabinet ROW l: M. Dvorak. M. Lundbohm. S. Crow. G. Andrusko. S. Smith. B. Ingison. ROW 2: D. Bergersen. K. Sorensen. L. Nel- son. Under the direction of Mr. Martens, strains of the old, beloved carols from 111 voices of the Mixed Choir and 70 voices of the Girls, Choir mingled in harmony and filled Jordants halls at Christmas time with melody. Under the leadership of Mr. J arnstrom the orchestra supplemented the singing with stringed ensemble in the lower hall. The effect was one of quiet and beauty. Caroling in the auditorium at the end of the day effectively set the mood for everyonets Christmas vacation, De- cember 19. ROW l: M. Gates. J. Brown, J. Hall, N. Ranelle. P. Buth. C. Stafford, N.
