THE JORDAN HIGH SCHOOL A PROMISE OF THE FUTURE Superintendent Arthur E. Peterson Forty-two years ago the Jordan High School began as a little country high school, designed to offer advanced school work to a few ambi- tious students who wished a little more than the customary scholastic training before entering life’s work. Then it exemplified the notable aspirations of a progressive people who rested their hopes in the training of their youth. Prompted by a continuation of that same high- born spirit, it has grown to become one of the large suburban schools of the state. Thousands of students have imbibed its influence since that noble beginning, and have received the greatest inspirations of their lives in its setting. The school stands today as a symbol of the past, giving meaning to the designs of its founders. Opportunity, individual develop- ment. happy living, and effective training for the future still serve as the objectives of its very existence. The school is now but a promise of what it shall be. With buoyant life as its message, good training its servant, and lasting- hope its inspiration, a proud future can be no other than assured. Arthur E.
