SUPERINTENDENT ' S MESSAGE YOUR SCHOOL In the pages of this book are many pictures. Some of these record events of the year, other events of previous years, others the beloved likenessess of friends and fellow students. To some extent it is a history of the school, your school. This is your school. Its existence is promised by your state constitution and is provided by the taxpayers of your country and local community. This school is here for you, to provide you with a means of acquiring the basic know- ledges so necessary to your future success. However, the school is yours only to extent that you assume the responsibility for its continued existence. If this school is to continue being your school, its future must be guarded by you. The condition of the building, the nature of the curriculum and its influence in shaping your lives, the success of the extra-curricular activities, the reputation of the students as a body — all of these things are in your hands. This is your school, because the school is yours. To the Class of 195 9, I extend my heartiest congratu- lations and my best wishes for a happy future.
