GIRLS' STATE DELEGATES Each yea: the faculty of the school present names of juniors excelling in leadership, school initiative, and other constructive qualities. These names are presented to the xarious leading civic organizations, who select the delegates to represent Joplin at Boys' State and Girls' State. This is a glorious adventure and a wonderful experience for these boys and girls,-the object being to train the youth of today in the principles of democracy and to acquaint them with the basic functions of our government. As usual our delegates brought back top honors by being elected to some of the highest offices.-Above: john Crowell, State Patrol: Willet Beavers, Circuit Judge: Robert Larson, State Representative: jerry Ivie, County Clerk: Larry Ancell, Sheriff: Greg Whit- sett.
