X R One of the last nights before my operation my mother and I were pray- ing for COD to help me and guide my doctoris hands through the operation. I saw a Clorious Angel of COD. My room was light all over. The Angel paused at my bed and smiled at me and then disappeared. But I think that if that Angel hadn't stopped and smiled I wouldnit be alive today. When I do walk the last mile of the way I shall not be afraid or lose hope. I will not be discouraged by the awesome figures along the way, I will not lose courage or faith and I shall not stop until my goal is reached. I may find friends along the way to walk with me. I will be glad, and I will thank COD and look ahead to- ward my destination with new hope 5 4 f v ,,c . Ulf 1 f .l ift ,QQ 441 1 .4 41 JAMES EDVVIN PARDUE, JR. And then I shall finally reach the dark, beautiful river that flows into Heaven, I shall kneel and thank GOD for the guidance to follow the right path this far. And when I get into the Glorious boat, I shall think of the world I have left, but I will not want to go back, 1 will go down the glorious river to Heaven.
